If you are truly born of God, then you are not homo sapien but eklektos genos or a God’s choices genus or breed. Anyone can attain to this if they so choose to submit their lives to God, die to the Old Man (Homo Sapien) and be born again. Who is the believer in Christ? S/he is many things and a few are mentioned in this verse:

  1. chosen generation
  2. a royal priesthood
  3. an holy nation
  4. a peculiar people

We can spend years unpacking all of these but for the sake of time and space, let's just do a summary of the first one. Mere men are known as Homo sapiens or humans. Who are Christians?

They are not part of the creation known as Homo sapiens.

2Co 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2Co 5:17 (AMPC) Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (A NEW CREATURE ALTOGETHER); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

THE WITNESS OF THREE APOSTLES

This is the testimony of scripture and we either believe the scripture or not as written by Apostle Paul. If indeed Christians or believers in Christ are new creatures altogether, then what type of creatures are they?

Apostles James and Peter give us the answer.

Jas 1:18 (AMPC) And it was of His own [free] will that He gave us birth [as sons] by [His] Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures [a sample of what He created to be consecrated to Himself].

Firstfruits always refers to the first, choicest or best of a thing—be it a crop, money, property or species. The believer in Christ as per Apostle James is “a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.” If God created many species or creatures, the Christian is his favourite or choicest of all his species—God’s absolute best in prominence and excellence—His own offspring that he gave birth to himself. If this is true of you, you cannot even envy angels. They envy you.

This is confirmed by Apostle Peter:

1Pe 2:9 (KJV) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

The statement “chosen generation” is the Greek term eklektos genos. We are God Almighty’s eklektos genos. Eklektos means favourite: — choice. We are God’s favourite genos or his choice genos. Genos means offspring, stock, race, breed etc. So the believer as per Apostle Peter is truly God’s first fruit—or favourite and choicest breed.

Understand that and stop selling yourself short.

Even the prophets of old inquired of you:

1Pe 1:10-12 (AMPC)

10 The prophets, who prophesied of the grace (divine blessing) which was intended for you, searched and inquired earnestly about this salvation.

11 They sought [to find out] to whom or when this was to come which the Spirit of Christ working within them was indicating when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that should follow [them].

12 It was then disclosed to them that the services they were rendering were not meant for themselves and their period of time, but for you. [It is these very] things which have now already been made known plainly to you by those who preached the good news (the Gospel) to you by the [same] Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Into these things [the very] angels long to look!

The prophets wanted to know about the salvation of man from homo sapien to eklektos genos. They wanted to know the people who would enjoy such a great salvation stated in Rom 10:9-10. This breed would be born after the death of Christ. Their dispensation is known as— the glories that should follow. Unlike those in the Old Testament, these were empowered to dispense peace and righteousness. They were divinely authorized to heal the sick, cast out devils, raise the dead etc. Christ himself was their Wisdom. Ohh how the prophets of Old sought to find out to whom or when this was to come which the Spirit of Christ working within them was indicating. But they were not told because it was not for their dispensation. So King David—a prophet himself—blessed these people, God’s choicest breed and said:

Rom 4:6-8 (AMPC)

6 Thus David congratulates the man and pronounces a blessing on him to whom God credits righteousness apart from the works he does:

7 Blessed and happy and to be envied are those whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered up and completely buried.

8 Blessed and happy and to be envied is the person of whose sin the Lord will take no account nor reckon it against him. [Psa 32:1-2]

Understand who you are in Christ—your royal divine identity as King Priest’s to God and reign in this life:

Rom 5:17 (AMPC) For if because of one man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God's] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

This is not about eugenics where some feel they are the best stock of the homo sapien species—about which others are excluded. This is about an entirely new creation—the first fruit of God’s creatures, his absolute best and get this, all peoples are invited to partake of it through acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord. Its not an exclusive club just for the few.

PROFESSION: I have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.” (1Pe 1:23). That makes me the righteousness of God. I am his choice breed, the first fruit of all his creatures. Therefore, I refuse to be subject to/by the limitations of homo sapiens or mere men like sickness and disease. His life abides in and through me. “For our sake God made Christ to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2Co 5:21). As his righteousness, I do not sin because “No one born (begotten) of God practices sin, for God's nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.” (1Jn 3:9, AMPC). Thank you God for making me part of your family. I am part of your eklektos genos who have “become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.” (2Pe 1:4, AMPC).
