Sunesis Learning initiative is a multi-faceted mission organization which aims to disciple the world for Christ through inspired education and discipleship aimed at transfiguration and transformation—empowering peoples with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is a diverse and expanding international ministry founded by Dr. Solomon Appiah. It is defined by the biblical mandate of Mat 28:19-20.
Our ministry motto is:
This is taken from 1Pe 2:4-5
To understand the Sunesis Learning Initiative, one must first comprehend what an initiative is. An initiative as per Google’s English dictionary is defined as follows:
initiative
- "use your initiative, imagination, and common sense"
- "anti-hunting groups have seized the initiative in the dispute"
-"a new initiative against car crime"
The SUNESIS Learning Initiative, also known as the Ekklēsia Project, offers “the power or opportunity to act or take charge before others do.” It is a divine “act or strategy intended to resolve a difficulty or improve a situation; a fresh approach to something.”
We equip/perfect Living Stones for God’s built without hands!
He never said, “I will cause men to build my house,” but rather, “I [Jesus] will build my Ekklesia.” The word church is correctly translated as the Ekklesia or God’s reigning royal house or God’s royal family. God, therefore, is the builder of His City—Zion and His House within that City. Abraham sought for this city.
Though God is the leading builder, He, however, chooses to build His building with the help of those called His co-laborers.
Construction requires building blocks and the building blocks are in part recreated new creations in Christ Jesus (new men).
These verses above sum up the genesis, vision and mission of Sunesis Learning Initiative—to equip or perfect the Living Stones (1Peter 2:5) after the image and likeness of the Living Stone (1Peter 2:4). These Stones are laid in Zion as part of God’s building.
To this end, the Initiative employs a Christ-encompassing, multi-centric, and widespread set of character-forming, capacity-building tools that are Christ-centric, value-laden, and driven. By this, reference is made to the culture and values of the Kingdom of Heaven. Put differently, the Initiative endeavors to renew people in the spirit of their minds—enabling them to put to death the Old Man and put on the New Man with his New Kingdom Culture. This is found in the continuation of the verses already quoted above: Read More...
A sample of how the Initiative achieves the above is education through in-person teaching seminars, one-on-one mentorship and coaching, a learning management system, videos, print media, social platforms, and all available media.
THE IMPORTANCE OF TRUTH AND ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE
Truth is the unveiled objective reality lying at the basis of and agreeing with an appearance; the manifested, the veritable essence of matter. Truth, verity, reality. The reality pertaining to an appearance (adapted from The Complete Word Study Dictionary).
Accurate knowledge is also important. Many seek knowledge and truth from the media systems of this world rather than from God the Creator. The world’s media outlets have, over time, been strategically consolidated into the hands of a few global actors. This has led to a monopoly of knowledge production, distribution and consumption—to fit a particular narrative. Most of these narratives do not give life but spread misinformation or lies, fear, dissatisfaction etc. because they are connected to the tree of knowledge of good and evil—and not the tree of life. False knowledge from the wrong tree leads to a defeated and frustrated life with occasional highs and many lows. It matters what you ingest. Accurate knowledge [epignosis] leads to life (Zoe)—the very same life Jesus is and has made available to you. This is sometimes referred to as eternal life. What is eternal life?
It is available to all who will accept it today. This is partly why SLI exists—to contribute to making this knowledge available to all.
Inspired Education and Discipleship aimed at Transfiguration and Transformation
Our mission is to educate nations, inspiring peoples everywhere through the divine teachings of Christ and the demonstration of the Holy Spirit and His power—bringing His body toward the fullness of the stature of Christ so they fulfil the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. We aim to impact the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Our core values are taken from the following scripture:
Everything we do at the Sunesis Learning Initiative is guided by our core values:
Solomon Appiah, Ph. D., is blessed to function in multi-spheres of influence in society and has lectured and consulted in various fields, including Christianity, prison reform, public security, public policy, and international relations. He was part of the team that produced the game-changing 2013 Africa Progress Report, Equity in Extractives: Stewarding Africa’s Natural Resources for All. The Wikipedia entry for the Kofi Annan chaired Africa Progress Panel for which he worked at the time had the following to say about the report: “The 2013 Africa Progress Report was launched at the World Economic Forum on Africa in Cape Town, South Africa on 8 June 2013 by Kofi Annan...The report's hard-hitting findings and policy recommendations received substantial international attention.”
He is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Sunesis Learning initiative, a multi-faceted mission organization which aims to disciple the world for Christ through inspired education and discipleship aimed at transfiguration and transformation—empowering peoples with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.
The most important decision a person will ever make in life is to get born again—reconciliation back to God as a New Creation, different from the former creation. This process has been reduced to solely repeating a prayer while a clergy member leads another in that prayer, and it usually goes like this: “Repeat this prayer after me….” The truth of the matter is that this is not necessarily the scriptural way. So what then is the scriptural way? It is stated in the following verses:
The person seeking salvation or to be reconciled back to God the Father, to become part of the bride of Christ must do two things:
Confess With Thy Mouth The Lord Jesus
The word confess is translated from a Greek word G3670 transliterated as homologeō and defined by Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament as “to say the same thing as another, i.e., to agree with, assent.” It means assenting to something. It’s a legal term. It means to agree with or consent to the desire of another”. Now when Jesus died, he overcame death, hell, and the grave and resurrected. God the Father then made him Lord, Master, Owner, etc.— “Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,” (Php 2:9-10, AMPC).
Why would every knee bow?
Because that is what we do before a Lord. When his disciples saw him for the first time after his resurrection, they bowed and worshipped him in his new status as Lord of All—and its implication (Matthew 28:9; John 20:28). To be born again, one must understand these things, and out of the abundance of what they believe in their hearts, their mouths must say the same thing in concert with God— “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Php 2:11, KJV). One must confess his Lordship. This means recognizing that henceforth, you have a new Master and Owner and only live to do His will and not yours. It’s a legal confession and induction of sorts. The second thing is to believe. Believe what?
Believe In Thine Heart That God Hath Raised Him From The Dead
A person seeking life must believe the implication of Jesus being raised from the dead, which is alluded to in v10—which is righteousness or justification, which is better spelled out in the following scriptures.
So important is believing in the resurrection of Christ and its meaning that Apostle Paul said:

Knowledge production in contemporary times is by and large controlled by few media outlets and families globally, and many have a secular perspective on issues. The Sunesis Learning Initiative examines global events from a biblical perspective and publishes these periodically. Basically, this is about looking at world events through the lens of the holy scriptures and what it teaches.
Jesus Christ and the Apostles he commissioned taught us to give to those less fortunate than ourselves, such as children, the sick, hungry, orphans, widows, prisoners—vulnerable groups in society. Obedience to this instruction brings a reward. The Sunesis learning Initiative would appreciate your donations so we can assist those in need.
The Sunesis Learning Initiative makes use of all available media platforms to equip the saints to grow in Christ and to do the work of the ministry. One means is by tutelage on a social media platform—via Alumni Referral Program. If interested, fill out an application form, and our staff will be in contact with you.
Another word for mentorship is discipleship. The Sunesis Learning Initiative, upon request, does organize mentorship opportunities to assist in the growth of the saints—subject to the availability of mentors. Interested applicants should send in their request along with their bio, CV, statement of interest, and what they expect to gain from this experience. Our team will get back to you.
The Sunesis Learning Initiative does organize virtual and physical seminars for equipping the saints—where the Holy Spirit inseminates them with the seed of the word of God like he did with Mary, the mother of Jesus. A seminar can be defined as a special group-study class for students—from Latin seminarium "breeding ground, plant nursery"–hence seminary. It refers to a gathering where knowledge and truths are imparted.
The Sunesis Learning Initiative is also a Mind Trust or, more aptly put—a Mind of Christ Trust. The mind of man is hostile to God (Rom 8:7). The mind of Christ or the mind set on the Spirit, however, holds the solutions for all problems across the globe.

There is a dearth of a biblical worldview. Barna has tracked beliefs that make up a “biblical worldview” since 1995. They are recognized by many as a good Christian research outfit. The following are some reports across the years based on their research:
Dr. George Barna wrote, "A new nationwide survey among a representative sample of America's Christian pastors shows that a large majority of those pastors do not possess a biblical worldview. In fact, just slightly more than a third (37%) have a biblical worldview and the majority (62%) possess a hybrid worldview known as Syncretism." A 2020 Barna research found this, "Among the 180 million adults who say they are Christian, less than one out of 10 (9%) has a biblical worldview. “Born again” Christians are one-third of the population (33%). These people were not identified as such by self-identification, but by claiming to be Christian and to believe that they will experience Heaven after they die solely because they have confessed their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. Although this group is often described as the “backbone” of the Christian Church, less than one out of five of them had a biblical worldview (19%) – a figure that was low but triple the national average (6%)."
Why is there such a dearth of a biblical worldview?
There are several reasons. Let us consider just a couple. First is that the process of knowledge production and dissemination is concentrated in the hands of a few who are not lovers of the God of the Bible or His ways. Universities and their curricula have been influenced by funding from some of these actors.
Another reason is the derogation of the Gift of the Teachers in the body of Christ—forgetting that Jesus himself was called Teacher. In Ephesians 4:8, we see that “When Jesus ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” (Eph 4:8). What were the gifts? They are stated in verse 11. Verse 10 speaks of the ascension part of verse 8, and verse 11 speaks of the Gifts he gave. What Gifts did he give? “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;” (Eph 4:11, KJV). The current generation seems to have magnified some Gifts and marginalised others. Everyone seems to want to be identified as an Apostle or Prophet, but not many choose to be identified solely as Teachers. Only God knows the actual reason for this marginalization of some of His Gifts. I have yet to see a billboard or poster where the person speaking at the Christian event was identified solely as a Teacher. The more common identities are Apostle, Prophet, Pastor and the occasional Evangelist. Teacher is rarely seen or used, e.g. Teacher Paul. Pastor Paul or Prophet Paul is rather what seems familiar, but as we approach the end of the age, this will change. There will be balance, and each Gift will supply what the body needs.
And yet the body needs all five Gifts to have a balanced biblical worldview. The work of verse 12 is to be done by all five Gifts. Each has a part to contribute.
A dearth of teaching based on a biblical worldview has led to a situation where in a nation that boasts of being a Christian nation, the percentage of adults and even clergy with a biblical worldview is quite unsettling.
This is one of the reasons for the existence of the Sunesis Learning Initiative. The Holy Scriptures state, "For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.” (1Co 13:9, KJV). SLI has a part to contribute to a wholistic biblical worldview, and for that reason has she been sent for such a time as this. The Sunesis Learning Initiative examines global events from a biblical perspective and publishes these periodically in blogs, newsletters and other fora.
The Sunesis Learning Initiative is also a Mind Trust or, more aptly put—a Mind of Christ Trust. The mind of man is hostile to God (Rom 8:7). The mind of Christ or the mind set on the Spirit, however, holds the solutions for all problems across the globe.
